Amee bundles third-party software. This page reproduces the license each bundled component ships under, and is also where you can find the same text inside the app.

mediaremote-adapter

Amee reads now-playing information — title, artist, album art, playback position, and the transport commands that go back the other way — through ungive/mediaremote-adapter by Jonas van den Berg. macOS keeps the private MediaRemote framework behind an allowlist of Apple’s own processes; the adapter is the piece that gets around it, and it is the reason Amee can show whatever is playing without asking for a permission or an account.

Amee ships a locally built, signed copy of the adapter’s framework alongside its Perl entry point. Both live inside the app bundle at Amee.app/Contents/Resources/mediaremote-adapter/, next to a copy of the license below.
